The catamaran is fast, exciting and comfortable. It's a great way to take the James Bond Island tour along with all the must-see spots in Phang Nga Bay. You'll see the iconic island (now called James Bond) featuring the distinct 'needle' limestone tower that you likely saw in motion picture "The Man with the Golden Gun". You'll also visit a Muslim fishing village and take a memorable canoe ride through dramatic cliff formations and mangrove forests.

The Sawanu is a premium twin-hull catamaran offering significantly greater stability and comfort than any speedboat — far less motion sickness risk, more spacious sun decks, and a smoother ride across open water. Unlike the speedboat (max 35 passengers) or cruise boat (max 80), the catamaran carries a maximum of 65 passengers and includes a pre-departure VIP welcome at Royal Phuket Marina's lounge with light breakfast and drinks — a premium experience not offered on any other James Bond Island tour. The catamaran also visits 6 destinations including two swimming islands (Naka Yai and Rang Yai), making it the most comprehensive itinerary in the series.
Yes — due to the operator's insurance policy, a passport copy (photo page) for every passenger must be sent by email no later than the day before the tour. This is a firm requirement unique to the Sawanu catamaran and is not required on any of the other James Bond Island tours. After booking you will receive an email from Phuket Tours Direct with instructions on where to send the passport copies. Failure to provide them may result in being denied boarding.
After the VIP lounge breakfast at Royal Phuket Marina (09:45) and 10:15 departure, the catamaran visits six destinations in this order: (1) 10:35 Naka Yai Island — swimming; (2) 11:45 Panak Island — sightseeing of the spectacular collapsed cave 'Hongs'; (3) 12:00 Hong Island — sea canoeing through enclosed lagoon; (4) 13:10 Panyee Island — lunch and explore the floating village; (5) 14:30 James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan) — iconic needle rock photos; (6) 16:00 Rang Yai Island — final swimming stop before returning to Royal Phuket Marina at 17:00-18:00.
Before departure at 10:15, guests are welcomed at Royal Phuket Marina's VIP lounge at 09:45 with a complimentary light breakfast and a variety of drinks. This pre-departure lounge experience sets the tone for the premium day ahead and is included in the tour price — no extra charge. The specific items served are determined by Sawanu Travel on the day.
Yes — professional-guided sea canoeing at Hong Island is included at 12:00. You canoe through Hong Island's stunning enclosed lagoon, completely surrounded by towering vertical limestone walls. Expert paddlers do all the work — you simply sit and enjoy. No canoeing experience or fitness is required. The Panak Island stop (11:45) is sightseeing of the collapsed cave 'Hongs' from the catamaran, not a canoe entry.
Rang Yai Island is a small, peaceful island located close to Royal Phuket Marina in eastern Phuket, making it a perfect final relaxation stop before the return journey. The catamaran anchors here at 16:00 for swimming and beach relaxation in calm, clear waters — a gentle wind-down after a full day of sightseeing, canoeing, and exploration in Phang Nga Bay. This stop is unique to the Sawanu catamaran itinerary and is not part of any other James Bond Island tour.
Adults: ฿3,000. Children (4-11 years): ฿2,500. Infants (1-3 years): free of charge. Everything is included in the price — hotel transfers, national park fee, light breakfast, lunch, canoeing, soft drinks/fruit onboard, life jacket, guide, and injury insurance. There are no extra fees to pay in cash on the day (unlike some other tours). Operated by Sawanu Travel.
This tour is NOT suitable for pregnant women or children under 6 months old. Note that unlike the speedboat and longtail tours, there is NO restriction for guests over 70 years old — the catamaran's exceptional stability makes it suitable for elderly guests. It is the recommended option for older travellers, guests prone to seasickness, and anyone with limited mobility who still wants to experience James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay.
This tour departs from and returns to Royal Phuket Marina, located on the eastern coast of Phuket near Koh Siray. Hotel pickup (08:15-09:15) by minibus is included from all areas, and transfers to Royal Phuket Marina are free — there are no additional transfer surcharges for any hotel zone on this tour. Arrive at the marina lounge at 09:45 for breakfast before the 10:15 departure.
Hotel pickup is between 08:15 and 09:15 (your exact time confirmed by email 24 hours prior). The catamaran departs Royal Phuket Marina at 10:15 and returns at 17:00-18:00, with hotel drop-off to follow. Total tour duration is approximately 9-10 hours from pickup to hotel return — the longest of all James Bond Island tours, reflecting the premium 6-island itinerary and the later 10:15 departure time.

Bought two tours to the islands in September 2026. Both were very well organized and perfectly match description on the company website. Pickup and delivery back to the hotel were on time.
It is the cheapest travel agency which operates smoothly and at half price than others around Phuket. We went on 2 tours with them and there was no problem. They picked up us on time and the tours were absolutely fantastic.
You will not find cheaper tours in Phuket. Don’t waste your time hassling with leaflet merchants that you can easily knock down several hundred baht and still not be cheaper!
I booked Phi Phi Island tour, staff on board were so friendly, helpful and nice. Tour guide Sunny was very informative, great tour, highly recommend.
We had a great long boat tour to James Bond Island via the monkey caves, floating fishing village and canoes! Our guide, Kim, was fantastic. He was really informative, friendly and helpful! I highly recommend the James Bond Island tour and thanks Kim for a great day!
Organised a group of 8 friends and the communication before the tour was excellent. They answered every question quickly. The speedboat tour to Phi Phi and Khai Island was a highlight of our two weeks in Thailand.
Much better prices than a major competitor, I'd advise checking here and comparing prices. Be aware they have fewer tours available.
Read moreWe took different tours with this company. Everything was excellent. On time, professional staff, awesome places, Whatapp number for any enquiry . Also in their website you can pay in different currencies. Well done
Read moreThe itinerary was organised perfectly, the staff were kind and made you feel included. As a solo traveller, I went out to Phi Phi island and the English speaking tour guide (his name was Guang) and felt very looked after and welcomed.
Read moreJust a fantastic James Bond day tour, well organized. Lots of good activities but just the right amount of time at each location to enjoy. Easy to interact with too on WhatsApp or via email or phone. Just the best to arrange a trip in Phuket. Great value too!
Read moreWe want to thank Phuket Tours Direct for this unbelievable and beautiful experience to James Bond Island. Never we've seen so much astonishing nature. Thailand is the most beautiful country we've seen during our holidays! Everything was perfectly organised on board of the speedboat with drinks and snacks. We also received transportation with a small touringcar from our hotel in Patong which was included in the price. Perfect service!
Read moreUnforgetable adventure trip with super rafting, elephants and more with our very nice and lovely guide Adi who does everything to feel comfortable and a wonderful delicious lunch For vegetarians - thank you Adi
Read moreWe booked our trip to Phang Nga online at Phuket Torus Direct. The booking process was flawless and the driver showed up as promised. I can really recommend the company.
Read moreEverything was arranged perfectly. Hotel pickup was on time, the guide was knowledgeable, and Maya Bay was absolutely stunning. Booked the early bird tour and it was worth every baht — barely anyone else there when we arrived.
Read moreWe travelled with two young kids and a grandmother. The cruise boat was the right call — calm, spacious, and the staff were so helpful with the little ones. Will definitely book again on our next trip to Phuket.
Read moreBest tour we did in Thailand. The catamaran was comfortable and stable — no seasickness at all. Pileh Lagoon looked exactly like the photos. Booking was easy and the price was the lowest I found anywhere online.
Read moreIt was the best trip ever, could not recommend a day trip to the Similan Islands highly enough. Fee and his team were impeccable, always going over and above for you. We could not fault anything during the whole trip.
Honest, no-middleman pricing. I compared three other agencies and Phuket Tours Direct was consistently cheaper for the same tours. The James Bond + Phi Phi combo was a full day but incredible value — two iconic locations in one trip.
Read moreReally good experience overall. The guide was funny and spoke excellent English. Phi Phi Don at lunchtime was a bit crowded but that's the same for every tour. Would choose the early bird next time to beat the crowds at Maya Bay.
