Frequently Asked Questions

Can we swim at Maya Bay or is it just a viewing stop?

Yes — you can swim, snorkel, and walk on Maya Bay beach! After environmental recovery efforts, Maya Bay reopened with controlled daily visitor numbers. You'll have time on the beach for swimming, snorkeling and photos, including the iconic limestone cliff backdrop made famous by Leonardo DiCaprio's film 'The Beach'. Important: Maya Bay closes every year from 1 August to 30 September for environmental recovery. During this period, viewing from the boat is possible but beach landing and swimming are not permitted.

What is Pileh Lagoon and why is it special?

Pileh Lagoon is a breathtaking enclosed natural pool on Phi Phi Leh Island, surrounded on all sides by towering vertical limestone cliffs. The water inside is a vivid emerald green, perfectly calm and crystal clear — completely sheltered from the open sea. It is one of the most photogenic spots in all of Thailand and a highlight of the Phi Phi Islands speedboat tour. You'll have time to swim and float in the lagoon and take photos of the dramatic cliff scenery.

How much time do we spend at Khai Island?

Approximately 45–60 minutes at Khai Island for swimming, snorkeling, beach relaxation, and feeding the large schools of tropical fish that gather in the shallow turquoise waters. Khai Island's shallow, calm and crystal-clear waters are ideal for all skill levels including children and non-swimmers. It's a relaxed, sun-soaked finale after the more active Phi Phi Islands section of the tour.

Will we see monkeys at Monkey Beach?

Yes — you'll cruise past Monkey Beach on Phi Phi Don Island and see wild long-tailed macaques in their natural habitat. The speedboat slows down for viewing and photos from the boat. Feeding or touching the monkeys is not permitted for safety and conservation reasons. It's a fun and memorable stop, especially popular with children.

What is included in the tour price?

The ฿1,500 per person price (same price for adults and children aged 3–10; infants 1–2 years free) includes: hotel transfers round-trip from free areas (Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong, Kathu, Koh Siray, Phuket Town), speedboat tour with max 35 passengers, snorkeling mask and fins, life jacket, Thai buffet lunch, soft drinks, water and fresh fruit on board, English-speaking guide, and injury insurance. Not included: national park fee (฿400 adult / ฿200 child, paid in cash on tour), hotel transfers from charged areas (surcharge applies), and towel.

What is the national park fee and how do I pay it?

The Phi Phi Islands National Park fee is a mandatory Thai government charge — ฿400 per adult and ฿200 per child (ages 4-12). Infants under 3 years old are free. This fee is not included in the tour price and must be paid in cash on the day of the tour. Please bring exact cash if possible. The fee goes directly to the national park authority for marine conservation and island maintenance.

Are there any age or health restrictions on this tour?

Yes — this speedboat tour is NOT suitable for: pregnant women, children under 1 year old, or guests over 70 years old. These restrictions are set by the tour operator for safety reasons due to the physical demands of speedboat travel across open sea. For pregnant women, elderly guests, or families with very young infants, the Phi Phi Islands Cruise Boat tour (฿1,250) is the recommended alternative — it uses a large 400-passenger ferry with air-conditioned seating and a much calmer ride.

What are the hotel transfer fees for areas outside the free zone?

Hotel transfers are included free of charge from Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong, Kathu, Koh Siray, and Phuket Town. A surcharge applies for: Bang Tao, Boat Lagoon, Cape Panwa, Kamala, Laem Hin Pier, Laguna, Royal Phuket Marina, and Surin (฿200 per person). Ao Po, Layan, Nai Harn, Nai Thon, Nai Yang, and Rawai (฿1,600 private van, max 10 pax). Mai Khao (฿1,800 private van, max 10 pax). Transfer surcharges are paid in cash on tour.
